The US Life-Saving Service Heritage Association is concerned about the preservation of historic Life-Saving and Coast Guard stations and about the threat of demolition to those that are not cared for and those that face development challenges. This free service offered by the USLSSHA is for anyone wishing to publicize, sell and/or purchase Life-Saving and Coast Guard stations around the country. The US Life-Saving Service Heritage Association will not be involved in any transactions between any parties who use our service; we only want to put potential buyers and potential sellers in touch with one another who share common interests in owning, saving and restoring Life-Saving Stations and Coast Guard Stations. There are risks which you assume when dealing with any transaction, all of which are borne by you, not the USLSSHA, as we are a networking venue only. Please find below a listing of available stations that we know about. If you have a listing, please contact us.
The Tawas Point Michigan Life Saving Station was constructed in 1876, one of 16 built to the specifications of renowned architect Francis W. Chandler. Only 5 of these stations still survive in the United States. This remarkable structure has now been converted to a luxurious home, while retaining the original charm and structural elements from its original use.
