The Cross Island Station House was built in 1874 (at 1st site)
This 1874 Station House was designed by Francis W. Chandler
Station closed in 1929 at this site and moved to a new location. Station turned over to GSA in 1964 as part of Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Station house survived as of 2006 but has been abandoned and is in ruins.
