The Indian River Inlet Station House was built in 1876 (at 1st site)
This 1875 Station House was designed by Francis W. Chandler
Station closed in 1962 at this site and moved to a new location. Station house turned over to the state of Delaware in 1962 after it was heavily damaged by the storm of March 1962. Station house survives and is the Indian River Life-Saving Station, a museum as part of Delaware Seashore State Park.
