This Chatham 2 (Forge River) Station House was designed by U.S. Coast Guard (R.A.R., S.J.L.M., & R.C.)

This station building's condition is NA

Station closed in 1994 and replaced by Wachapreague Station. Station site turned over to The Nature Conservancy, Virginia Coast Reserve. Station house and 1936 boathouse were struck by lightning and burned to the ground on April 5, 1999 when they were being restoring as a center for nature programs.
