Popes Island Station House

The Popes Island Station House was built in 1878
This 1876 Station House was designed by J. Lake Parkinson
Station closed in 1953. Turned over to GSA in 1965 and transferred to the Fish and Wildlife Service in 1966 as part of Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. Station house abandoned and destroyed by fire by in 1965.
