Cape Elizabeth Station Site

The Cape Elizabeth Station Site site was established in 1887
Station closed on February 24, 1964 and replaced by Station South Portland. 1887 station house survives but has been moved off site. 1933 station house survives at this site and is used for housing USCG personnel.
Station Site Notes:
1882 site selected and title secured; 1885 preparations for construction; 1888 put into operation; 1889 repairs and improvements; Public Works Administration funded project in 1933 to rebuild station buildings; 1887 completed and will go into service during the present active season (USLSS Annual Reports). First keeper appointed 9/17/1887; still listed as an active station until July 1964(?) [1963]; Turned over to GSA in 1964 (USCG Historian's Website).
