Station closed in 1946 and turned over to GSA in 1951. Replaced by Southwest Harbor Station? 1879 station house survives at this site and is privately owned.

Station Site Notes:

1873 boat house will be placed on Cranberry Island; 1878 work to start spring 1879; 1879 occupied by crew (USLSS Annual Reports). First keeper appointed 8/27/1879 (USCG Historian's Website); 1889 repairs and improvements (USLSS Annual Reports); 1946 station permanently relocated and consolidated with the Southwest Harbor Depot (USCG Historian's Website).
