The Ludington Station Site site was established in 1879
Station closed 1884 at this site and moved to a new location. 1879 station house moved to new site. Fate of station house unknown.
Station Site Notes:
1878 work to start spring 1879; 1879 approaching completion; 1880 ready for service spring 1879; 1884 enlarged and increased facilities for launching and receiving the lifeboat, moved to a new site (USLSS Annual Reports). New, smaller stations will be built in Manistee, Ludington and Frankfort. The stations are scheduled to open in January or February of 2003 (USCG Historian's Website).
