The Montauk Point Station Site site was established in 1855
Station closed in 1899. No station buildings survive at this site.
Station Site Notes:
Spring 1871 (1872?) repaired and enlarged; 1872 station completed; 1878 repaired?; 1878 "The new station mentioned as desirable to be built at Montauk Point has not been erected, it being found impossible to obtain title to the site selected on account of the premises being in litigation." 1900 in charge of keeper at Ditch Plain Station, no crew employed (USLSS Annual Reports).
