Station closed on September 16, 1958. The National Park Service occupied the site through a permit from the Coast Guard until 1973, when the property was transferred to the NPS as part of Cape Cod National Seashore. 1936 station house survives at this site and is owned by the National Park Service.

Station Site Notes:

1872 site selected and in the process of construction; 1873 completed and equipped 1/1873; 1886 and 1887 contracts entered into for repairs and enlargements; 1888 extensive repairs and enlargements made (USLSS Annual Reports). First keeper appointed 12/12/1872; disappears from list of stations in July 1959 (USCG Historian's Website). First headquarters of the Cape Cod National Seashore opened in the 1936 station building in 1961 (Cape Cod National Seashore Website).
