The Pointe aux Barques Station Site site was established in 1876
Station closed in 1937 and turned over to GSA in 1956. 1876 station house survives but was moved to Port Austin in 1964 as part of Huron City Museums.

1874 site secured, plans and specs being prepared; 1875 contract entered into, building rapidly progressing; 1876 completed and occupied by crews; 1914 launchway wrecked and boathouse damaged by storm (USLSS Annual Reports). Turned over to GSA in 1956 (USCG Historian's Website).
