Station closed in 1937 and turned over to the War Assets Administration in 1946. 1894 station house survives and is part of Cape Lookout National Seashore. Station house has been restored as a museum by the National Park Service.

Station Site Notes:

1894 built and receiving equipment; 1895 manned and put into operation; 1916 launching facilities extensively repaired (USLSS Annual Reports). Turned over to the War Assets Administration in 1946 (USCG Historian's Website).
