The Potunk Station Site site was established in 1855
Station closed in 1936. All of the buildings were destroyed by the September 1938 hurricane.
Station Site Notes:
Spring 1871 (1872?) repaired and enlarged; 1886 contracts entered for repairs and enlargements. 1936 listed as active but without a keeper and crew. 1937-1938 listed as inactive (USLSS Annual Reports). All buildings at the site were destroyed during the September 1938 hurricane.
