Station closed in 1918 at this site and moved to a new location. Station buildings intentionally burned in a training exercise ca. 1928.

Station Site Notes:

1873 contracts for construction made; 1874 erected; 1882 sheds constructed for apparatus and stores; 1916 launching facilities extensively improved (USLSS Annual Reports). First keeper appointed 10/16/1874 (USCG Historian's Website).
