The Townsend Inlet Station Site site was established in 1849
Station closed in 1986? at this site and moved to a new location. 1886 station house survives at this site and is a USCG recreational facility.
Station Site Notes:
1878 repaired; 1886 contracts entered; 1887 rebuilding completed; 1921 contract awarded for extensive repairs and remodeling of station building including modern heating, lighting and plumbing facilities (USLSS Annual Reports). A site was acquired in 1878 and in 1885 (USCG Historian's Website).
