Station closed in 1944 and sold in 1947. Stations site is the Vermilion Point Nature Preserve, owned by the Little Traverse Conservancy, Inc. 1938 and 1876 station houses survive, but 1874 station has been abandoned and is in near ruins.

Station Site Notes:

1874 site secured, plans and specs being prepared; 1875 difficulty in obtaining title to site causing delay in construction; 1876 completed and will be occupied next year (USLSS Annual Reports). Station was consolidated with Crisp Point Light Station in 1940 (USCG Historian's Website).
