The Lake Tahoe Station Site site was established in 1964

Station Site Notes:
The station (USCG Lake Tahoe) first came into being at the close of World War II and began year round operation in 1981. On March 2, 1988, the Coast Guard closed the station because of severe federal budget cuts. It was reopened on June 2, 1989. It is manned with 10 people and two boats (Station Website).
