The Bodie Island Station House was built in 1879
This 1876 Station House was designed by J. Lake Parkinson
Station closed in 1937 and transferred to the Department of Interior in 1953. Moved to first location in 1955. Extensively renovated and moved to second location in 2013? Station house replaced by a new station house in 1925 (1923?). Station house survives and is part of Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
Station house was renovated and moved in 2013? approximately 1/2 south of its original location due to coastal erosion. Station house and 1903 boathouse are used for offices by the National Park Service and Fish and Wildlife Service.
