Station closed in 1982. Station house leased to the Cape Lookout Studies Program of the North Carolina Maritime Museum.

Cape Lookout Studies Program is an Environmental Education, Research and Conservation Program of the North Carolina Maritime Museum. Groups with the program can stay overnight in the station house. The Station house is used as lodging for the program.
