Station closed in 1990 at this site and moved to a new location. Station house survives and is the Lake Michigan Field Station of the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory.

Station house was restored in 2005 by the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory. It is a marine research facility and an environmental research laboratory.
