The Burnt Island Station Site site was established in 1891
Station closed in 1964 and replaced by Station Rockland. 1891 station house survives at this site and is privately owned.
Station Site Notes:
1891 station constructed; 1892 placed in operation; 1913 contract entered for extensive improvements (USLSS Annual Reports). First keeper appointed 11/14/1891; Works Project Administration Act of 1938 provided $52,250 for a new boathouse and launchway and to recondition the station buildings. The station remained on the listing of stations until July 1964(?) [1963] (USCG Historian's Website). Original boathouse burned (Station owner).
