This building was Altered

Station closed in 1944 and sold in 1947. Stations site is the Vermilion Point Nature Preserve, owed by the Little Traverse Conservancy, Inc. Station house survives.

Station house is used for housing biology research students from Lake Superior State University on an occasional basis, and employees of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service who monitor Piping Plover nesting activities.
