Station closed in 1947 and turned over to GSA in 1955. Site owned by Town of East Hampton. 1398 station house moved to Montauk Station in January 1955 and put in service at new station. No other station buildings survive at this site.

Station Site Notes:

Spring 1871 (1872?) repaired and enlarged; 1878 repaired; 1888 old station replaced; 1889 station completed (USLSS Annual Reports). During the hurricane of September, 1938, the station beach boathouse was demolished and the garage was badly damaged. The station was active through World War II, but disappeared from the listing of stations in January 1948. The property was turned over to GSA in 1955 (USCG Historian's Website).
